Write for us
Bright Design Review welcomes pitches that help readers understand a specific design choice, convention or built detail. Send proposals through the Contact page; a concise explanation is more useful than a finished article sent without context.
What to pitch
We are interested in clear, original ideas within objects, graphics, interiors, architecture and public space. A strong pitch names the question, the reader it serves and the particular examples or design principles it will use. Comparative pieces, explainers, histories and close readings can all work when they have a distinct point.
What makes a useful piece
Keep the scope manageable and the central idea easy to state. Explain why the subject matters in use, identify what readers will be able to notice or understand, and flag any specialized knowledge the piece needs. Avoid sales copy, unsupported claims and broad claims that one design choice is best for everyone.
How to send a proposal
Use the Contact page, choose the editorial question option and include a working title, a short summary and a note about your approach. You may include relevant writing samples in your message. Please do not send confidential information or assume a proposal is commissioned before we agree to it.
